A Tribute to Katharine Mulherin:
The Great Paths, 2019

Location P5

Presented by the artists, Galerie 3 (Booth C7) and Parisian Laundry (Booth C19)

This summer, we lost an important member of our community. Katharine Mulherin was an advocate for artists, a builder of the creative industry and a beloved friend. In the 20 years since opening her first gallery on Queen West in Toronto in 1998, Katharine developed several more galleries in Toronto, New York City and Los Angeles, providing exhibition and studio space for a generation of artists and serving countless collectors. With a sharp eye for spotting emerging talent and a creative approach to exhibition management, her spaces evolved over the years as she experimented with various gallery forms. Katharine was a tireless advocate and supporter of artists, and for that we are deeply grateful.

This fall she had planned a solo show with Quebec collective BGL. In remembering her, we wanted to make space for her indelible vision, and also encourage conversations around mental health in our community. If you are affected by mental health issues, we encourage you to seek assistance. If you are able to support those in need, please consider making a donation to the Gerstein Crisis Centre at
